The nearby Dalemain Historic Mansion is one of the most beautiful and impressive stately houses in the North West of England. You can also explore the historic grounds that feature the famous rose gardens, blue Himalayan poppies, and the largest silver fir tree in the UK.

The legends of King Arthur remain rooted in the Ullswater and Eden Valley. Many local landmarks are associated with the legendary figure, from Pendragon Castle to the waterfalls at Aira Force. The 19th century Lowther Castle is a must-visit for history fans. It features dramatic ruins, gardens within gardens, and one of the best adventure playgrounds in the land.

The pretty Lakeland village of Pooley Bridge is just 10 minutes from Waterfoot Park.
